DE LUZE EXTRA Single Barrel Finish – Grande Champagne


An oak barrel of Cognac has a capacity of 350 litres, the aquivalent of 500 bottle of 70cl. Blending of very old eaux-de-vie takes place in smaller capacity barrels than large oak vats that are generally used in Cognac. This final stage of production of Cognac can take one year or more in order to preserve the qualities of each eau-de-vie.


DE LUZE has recently bottle an oak barrel of very old Grande Champagne eaux-de-vie. 500 bottles have there-fore been preparer each offering an average tasting age of 50 years.


This Cognac has been produced from the harvest of the exclusive Domaine Boinaud (owners of DE LUZE) 410 ha vineyard in Grande Champagne, the premier district of the appelation.

Tasting Notes


Visual : Deep golden yellow, mahogany, fiery red hints coming from the long ageing, crystalline shine.


Tropical Fruit : Passion fruit, pineapple


Dried Fruit : Apricot, fig


Very rich in Floral Notes: Narcissus, jasmine, honeyscukle, tawny port


Delicately Spicy : Saffron, nutmeg, blonde tabacco, cigar box


Time on palate : 60 minutes
