Camus VINTAGE 1988 COGNAC
The CAMUS 1988 Vintage Cognac from Petite Champagne is great, with tremendous balance between fruit and acidity.
The weather in 1988 was not too good, with a very wet winter and heavy rain in January and February, which delayed the flowering of the vines. Fortunately the latter part of the summer was very dry, which brought the grapes to ripeness just in time.
Tasting Notes
Eye: Crystal-clear pale light yellow colour
Nose: Slightly peppery and lemony. Scent of dried flowers. Distillation still noticeable with very elegant aromas.
Palate: Great finesse (Petite Champagne on very chalky soil). Lasting underlying mineral presence. Soft touch of leather
